Texas Tech erupts for record-setting win at Valspar Collegiate
Texas Tech men's golf secured its first team win in over two years at the Valspar Collegiate, beating No. 1 Auburn in a record-setting win.
Texas Tech put together a historic performance for its first team win in more than two years. The Red Raiders won the 2026 Valspar Collegiate on Tuesday, topping No. 1 Auburn by six shots in a field that also included eight of the top 17 teams in the country.
Texas Tech finished at 45-under 807, setting a tournament scoring record by nine shots (Texas, 2025). Texas Tech trailed Auburn by 10 shots after the opening round but carded consecutive 17-under rounds to finish at Floridian National Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida. Ben Gregg led the Red Raiders with a career-best finish, tying for third at 13-under 200.
Tim Wiedemeyer finished a shot behind Gregg while Connor Graham tied for 13th at 9 under. Brady McHenry tied for 23rd while Adam Bresnu rounded out the lineup with a T-30 performance. No.
6 Texas, No. 7 Arkansas and No. 5 Florida State rounded out the top five.
