Brewers Wrap Up Spring Training With Victory
Brandon Sproat threw four innings of two-hit ball, Jake Bauers homers as Milwaukee Brewers top Cincinnati Reds 4-1.
The Milwaukee Brewers wrapped up Spring Training play on Tuesday with a 4-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at American Family Field in Milwaukee. Right-hander Brandon Sproat looked ready for the 2026 MLB season to begin, which it will officially do for the Brewers on Thursday. Sproat worked four innings, allowing just two hits, no runs, and struck out five.
His Spring ERA finished up at 3. 46. Jake Bauers hit his seventh homer of the Spring in the bottom of the second inning, putting Milwaukee up 1-0.
In the bottom of the fifth, David Hamilton's RBI single brought Bauers home, upping the Brewers' lead to 2-0. Reds phenom Elly De La Cruz smoked his third homer of the Spring for Cincinnati in the top of the sixth inning, accounting for the Reds' lone run. Brandon Lockridge's two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning brought home Cooper Pratt and Luis Lara, putting the Brewers up 4-1.
That wrapped up the scoring on Tuesday. Sproat picked up the win, evening his Spring record to 1-1. The Reds' Chase Burns worked five innings, giving up four hits and two runs (both earned).
