Rutgers Baseball Shuts Out Delaware In Midweek Action

Freshman pitcher Henry Radbill started the game on fire, pitching 4.

1 scoreless innings before being relieved. Bullpen pitchers Jacob Peterson, Jason Masick, and Matthew Cruz did what they needed to do throughout the rest of the game to seal the victory for Rutgers. The Knights’ pitchers only surrendered 3 hits on the day, only one of which led to a runner on base.

Peyton Bonds would get the Knights going on offense first, blasting his sixth home run of the season to put Rutgers up by one in the first inning. After Bonds’ homer, Ryan Jaros would blast one of his own in the second with a runner on base, putting the Knights up three. After a scoreless third inning, Charlie Meglio would record a bases-loaded walk to give the Knights a run before a two-run single from Yomar Correras and a wild pitch added three more.

This offensive burst would see Rutgers up 7-0 before the end of the fourth inning. The Knights would add one more in the fifth inning off a sacrifice fly by Tre Wells. From then on, Rutgers defense would hold it down, earning Rutgers the shutout win.
