Detroit Lions owner Sheila Hamp is expanding her portfolio in professional sports. Hamp is part of a consortium that bought the Rajasthan Royals, a cricket team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), according to The Hindu Business Line . Hamp succeeded her mother, Martha Ford, as the Lions' principal owner and chair in 2020, and is a member of the ownership group of at least three other professional sports franchises.

PLANNING AHEAD: Detroit Lions sell out of season tickets for 2026 campaign Last spring, Hamp joined a group of investors who were awarded a WNBA expansion franchise in Detroit . Lions quarterback Jared Goff, rapper Eminem and ex-NBA players Grant Hill and Chris Webber also are investors in the franchise headed by Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores. Hamp also is part of the ownership group of the Motor City Golf Club , which will begin play in the TMRW Golf League (TGL) in 2027.

Middle West Partners , which also includes Hamp's husband, Steve, her sons Michael and Peter, Denver Broncos owner Rob Walton, and tech entrepreneur Kal Somani, is reportedly part of the group buying the cricket franchise.
