Mike Tomlin surprised the NFL world by stepping down as head coach of the Steelers following the team’s 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans in the wild card round.
The loss marked the ninth consecutive season in which Pittsburgh did not win a playoff game. Now, Tomlin is eyeing his next venture. Per Ryan Glasspiegel and Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports , Tomlin has signed with sports media agents Sandy Montag and Alex Flanagan.
It is unclear where exactly Tomlin will look to take his talents. That said, NBC recently parted ways with Tomlin’s former mentor Tony Dungy, leaving a seat available on Football Night In America . He could also go the route of Sean Payton, who went to Fox Sports after resigning as New Orleans Saints head coach.
Tomlin’s options won’t be limited, as he will be a coveted name for all major networks to acquire. Let us know what you think in the comments . Be sure to bookmark Behind the Steel Curtain for all the latest news, breakdowns, and more!
