Special VF-26 design marks collaboration with Toho and celebrates 75 years of the franchise.

Haas Gets a Godzilla Makeover for Japanese GP HAAS F1 Haas will sport a special Godzilla livery at this weekend’s Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix as part of a collaboration with Toho Co. The scheme, which will adorn the VF-26, was unveiled in Tokyo Midtown Hibiya by drivers Ollie Bearman and Esteban Ocon, and Team Principal Ayao Komatsu, on Tuesday. Godzilla, 75 years on from its cinematic debut, remains a cultural phenomenon in Japan, with an array of merchandise, while a model of Godzilla on the Gracery Hotel in the Shinjuku district is among the most popular tourist attractions.

Haas will also run a different livery at the US Grand Prix, in October, to mark the expected release of the latest movie in the franchise, Godzilla Minus Zero . Japan has taken on something of a second home round for Haas courtesy of its technical partnership with Toyota, and its title sponsorship from its TGR division. HAAS F1 “I love that Japan is another ‘home’ race—it’s the most spectacular city, the fans are so passionate, and for a second year in a row we’re revealing a very special livery,” said Bearman.

“I feel that partnering with Godzilla is something only Haas could do, we do things our way, and it’s really quite something. ” Haas had enjoyed a prosperous start to the 2026 campaign and enters the third event of the season in fourth position in the Constructors’ Championship. Bearman has been responsible for all of Haas’ 17 points so far in 2026, and boss Komatsu has laid down the aim of a double top-10 finish at Suzuka.

“We’re motivated to carry on the momentum we got from the first two races, and I think the team is working really, really well,” Komatsu said. “Suzuka will pose a very different challenge from Shanghai, but at least so far on two different circuits, we’ve managed to adapt our approach well to get the best out of our car and drivers. “Our target in Suzuka is to again focus on the fundamentals and then try to get both cars into point double points, that’s what we’re aiming for.
