JRob Croy flips commitment to Arizona State from Saint Mary's

The Arizona State men's basketball program has landed its first player under new coach Randy Bennett.

With coaching changes come roster turnover. The Arizona State men's basketball team has its first newcomer, as four-star guard JRob Croy has flipped his commitment from Saint Mary's to Arizona State, following coach Randy Bennett's move to Tempe. Croy, a 6-foot-5 guard out of Riverside (Calif.

) Poly High School had offers from the likes of Stanford, Oregon, USC, and Texas A&M. He was ranked the No. 124 guard in the 2026 class by 247Sports.

JRob led Riverside Poly to an Ivy League Title and a trip to the Division II CIF State Regional Semifinals. On the AAU circuit, Croy helped lead Team CPSA to the 2025 Puma Pro16 17U League Title, averaging 13. 5 points per game and six assists per contest while shooting 39% from 3.

He is the son of Cal Baptist coach Rick Croy. Arizona Stateโ€™s 2026 class previously only included 3-star forward Seven Spurlock, but he decommitted upon Bobby Hurleyโ€™s departure. There was movement on the Saint Mary's front too, as its leading scorer, Paulius Murauskas, indicated he would enter the transfer portal.
