Tottenham Hotspur Are Trailing Newcastle United For This Ligue 1 Keeper: What Should Spurs Do? In a recent report , journalist Pete O’Rourke stated that Tottenham Hotspur are trailing Newcastle United for Lens keeper Robin Risser. It is believed that Spurs find themselves behind the Magpies in pursuit of the French custodian this summer.
Risser’s Impressive Form In Ligue 1 Risser has enjoyed a good run of form at the French club this season as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them in Ligue 1. The 21-year-old conceded 28 goals and grabbed 11 clean sheets in 30 appearances for Lens in this campaign so far across all competitions. The French talent is currently one of the best young keepers in Ligue 1.
Thus, it is no surprise that Spurs are in the race to acquire his services this summer. His current contract at Lens will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for Tottenham to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.
