Mohamed Salah set to leave Liverpool at end of season
Mohamed Salah set to leave Liverpool at end of season Mohamed Salah (33) has announced he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season after nine years at Anfield, BBC Sport has confirmed. The 33-year-old confirmed the news in a video posted on social media, saying: โ Unfortunately the day has come. This is the first part of my farewell.
โ Liverpool said they had โ reached an agreement โ with Salah, who will leave on a free transfer despite signing a new two-year contract in April 2025. Salah has been one of the clubโs most successful players in recent history, scoring 255 goals in 435 appearances and helping Liverpool win two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FA Cup, and two League Cups. However, this season has been more difficult by his high standards.
He has scored 10 goals in 34 games, which would be his lowest return since joining the club in 2017. In his message, Salah thanked supporters for their backing during his time at the club. โ Liverpool is not just a football club.
Itโs a passion,โ he said. โYou gave me the best time of my life . โ Liverpool are fifth in the Premier League with seven games remaining and still have the Champions League and FA Cup to play for.
The club said plans to celebrate Salahโs career will be made later in the year. GFN | Finn Entwistle
