World class coach opens door to Liverpool return Arne Slot's time is up at Liverpool and now a world-class coach has opened the door to replace him. Brighton just felt like another low point in what’s been a really rough season for the Reds and for us fans who have been following every game. The reality is that it’s not even just this season - it’s been a pretty poor 12 months overall.
Aside from the occasional bright spot, like the game against Galatasaray, Liverpool have looked nothing like themselves. Slot’s style was never the most exciting to watch, but at least early on it was getting results. Now that the wins have dried up, the matches are just becoming a slog to sit through.
You can tell fans are losing interest too- fewer people are tuning in every week. It’s gotten so bad that Champions League qualification is starting to look unlikely and they are voicing their displeasure with boos at Anfield. At the end of the day, football’s meant to be entertaining.
Sure, 'big money' has turned it into a results business, but when the excitement goes, that’s a bigger problem. If things don’t change soon, Liverpool could be heading for some serious fallout. A lot of Liverpool fans are yearning for the return of Jurgen Klopp back because he was never just a manager- he felt like one of us.
