Florida football Pro Day: 13 players set to impress NFL scouts
Florida football will host its annual Pro Day on Thursday at UF's indoor practice facility with 13 Gators set to work out in front of NFL personnel.
Florida football's pipeline to the NFL will be on full display Thursday. The Gators will host their annual Pro Day at UF's indoor practice facility, with 13 former Florida players set to work out in front of NFL coaches, scouts and personnel, the university announced Monday. The group of Gators include Caleb Banks, Austin Barber, Michael Caraway Jr.
, Tommy Doman, Dameion George Jr. , George Gumbs Jr. , Devin Moore, Tyreak Sapp, Jake Slaughter, Trey Smack, J.
Michael Sturdivant, Brien Taylor Jr. and Rocco Underwood. Pro Day serves as one of the final opportunities for prospects to make an impression on NFL decision-makers before the draft, and for many players, it can be the difference between hearing their name called and signing as an undrafted free agent.
Thursday's event will give each prospect a chance to post measurables and perform a handful of workouts, including the 40-yard dash, vertical and broad jumps and positional drills, giving NFL staff members in attendance additional information to fill out their scouting reports. Prospects will also be given the opportunity to sit down with NFL representatives for interviews following the workout portion of the event. It's a component that has grown increasingly important in the pre-draft process as teams look to evaluate character and football IQ alongside athleticism and on-field production.
