One of the top guards in the Big East is planning to depart from Georgetown after just one season, per a report.

For a second straight offseason, guard KJ Lewis plans to enter the transfer portal, per On3's Joe Tipton. Lewis spent the 2025-26 campaign with the Georgetown Hoyas, leading the team in points (14. 9), rebounds (5.

1) and steals (2. 1) while dishing out 2. 5 assists per game.

The Hoyas went 16-18 overall and 6-14 in the Big East, though they made a run in the conference tournament in beating DePaul and Villanova before falling to UConn in the semifinal. Lewis was unavailable for the Big East tournament, as he suffered an ankle injury that caused him to miss the final six games of the season. Lewis began his career with the Arizona Wildcats, entering the program as a four-star recruit in the 2023 class.

He contributed early on, chipping in 6. 1 points and 3. 1 rebounds as a freshman before improving into a double digit scorer as a sophomore during the 2024-25 season.
