Colts among teams to meet with top defensive tackle draft prospect

The Colts are among many teams who have met with a top defensive tackle prospect in the 2026 NFL draft.

Ohio State defensive tackle Kayden McDonald is on the Indianapolis Colts' radar. In an interview with Justin Melo of Sports Illustrated, McDonald mentioned the Colts as one of the teams that he had a formal interview with at the NFL combine. He did not, however, mention having an official 30 visit with the Colts.

McDonald measures in at 6-3, 326 pounds, and is relatively inexperienced compared to many draft prospects, playing 695 career snaps, 448 of which came this past season. He recorded 14 quarterback pressures and two sacks, but his greatest impact came as a run defender, where he was one of PFF's highest-graded prospects, and logged nine tackles for a loss. "It starts with winning my assignment," McDonald told Melo.

"I welcome those double teams so I can free up our linebackers. I love making everybody around me better. Thatโ€™s what shows up on film.

" Realistically, McDonald may be long gone before the Colts are on the clock. He is the No. 2 ranked defensive tackle on Mel Kiper Jr.
