Miami trending to land 5-star 2028 cornerback recruit
The Miami Hurricanes have positioned themselves well to secure the commitment of one of the top players in the 2028 class.
The Miami Hurricanes quickly built one of the top offenses in college football this offseason, adding the likes of quarterback Darien Mensah and wide receiver Cooper Barkate to pair with running back Mark Fletcher Jr. and phenom receiver Malachi Toney. Now, per a report from Rivals' Chad Simmons, the Hurricanes are considered the favorite in the recruitment of 2028 five-star cornerback A'mir Sears.
The 6-foot-1, 178-pounder is the No. 1 cornerback and No. 3 player overall in the 2028 class, per 247 Sports Composite.
He competes for Miami Columbus High School in Miami, where he's the second-ranked player in the state behind five-star wide receiver Brysen Wright. "The relationships with the coaches, how they value me and my connection with the players make it easy and fun at Miami," Sears told Rivals. "They all know my family.
Iโm comfortable there and I like Miami both on and off the field. " NEW: Miami and Mario Cristobal have positioned themselves as a team to beat for a 5-star recruit, @ChadSimmons_ reports๐ View: https://t. co/StjFSRoYEP pic.
