Kobie Turner will be 2026 commencement speaker at his alma mater
Kobie Turner is heading back to Richmond to give a commencement speech in May.
Kobie Turner is heading back to where his college football career began. The University of Richmond announced Tuesday that Turner will be the commencement speaker this year, addressing the undergraduates at their ceremony on May 10. Turner attended Richmond from 2018-2021 before transferring to Wake Forest, where he finished playing college ball in 2022.
The Los Angeles Rams then drafted him in the third round in 2023. โIโm thrilled and honored to serve as the Commencement speaker for this yearโs graduating class at my alma mater, University of Richmond,โ said Turner. โThe time spent at Richmond was a memorable part of my journey, and my professors and peers played a significant role in my growth and development.
I hope to pay forward some of the guidance thatโs been provided to me and inspire the next generation of UR graduates. โ Turner has become a leader for the Rams in his first three seasons, excelling on the field and off it. He was a double-major in mathematics and music at Richmond, and has continued to pursue music into his NFL career; he appeared on โThe Masked Singerโ and has released multiple singles.
