New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis was spotted chatting up Mansoor Delane at the LSU Tigers' pro day. Is the corner in play at No. 8?

Pro day season is in full effect around the collegiate football landscape, and with that, some of the most notable ones have come and gone in the past few days. For the New Orleans Saints , a notable in-state option was hosted, that being the LSU pro day, with cornerback Mansoor Delane being considered one of the top prospects in the entire draft class, and likely the top at his position. With cornerback being a pretty prominent need for the Saints, discussions were swirling prior to the event about the potential of him being an option.

Then the pro day happened, and Saints cornerbacks coach Grady Brown had the opportunity to work up close with Delane during drills. It was also noted that general manager Mickey Loomis and personnel advisor Randy Mueller were both in attendance. Loomis made his presence known early, too, as he was seen speaking directly to Delane for a decent chunk of time, making the rumor mill churn even further.

Considering how talented the young cornerback is, he should definitely be in play for them at pick No. 8 next month, especially given how important the position truly is in the league now, and how much teams are willing to pay them once they hit the open market. Getting a young and highly-talented prospect on a small-scale rookie deal, especially an in-state prospect, is a huge positive.
