Dayton Webber, 27, faces murder and other charges in the killing of Bradrick Michael Wells, also 27, authorities said. The incident occurred shortly before 10:30 p.
m. on Sunday in La Plata, a suburban Charles County community south of Baltimore. According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, Webber was driving with Wells in the front passenger seat and two other people in the back when the group began arguing.
Webber allegedly shot Wells, pulled over, and asked the remaining passengers to help remove the body. They refused, got out of the car, and fled, flagging down officers nearby to report the shooting. Webber drove away with the body still inside, authorities said.
About two hours later, a resident in nearby Charlotte Hall reported finding a body in a yard. Investigators identified it as Wells. Deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Webber.
