Browns AFC North rival has QB plans hinted at by NFL insider

•Yahoo Sports

Adam Schefter hinted at what one Browns rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers, could have up their sleeves as far as a plan at the QB position in 2026.

Cleveland Browns ' rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers, are waiting with bated breath on Aaron Rodgers' decision about his future. Stop me if you've heard that one before. Pittsburgh is playing one heck of a waiting game for its quarterback to decide whether he is coming back or not.

In perfect Aaron Rodgers fashion, he is taking his good old time with his decision and has now strung his team through free agency and is quickly approaching the draft. The common sense side of me believes that Rodgers has already communicated his decision to the Steelers, but then, when you hear that he still has not talked to his new wide receiver, Michael Pittman Jr. it's easy to believe that he has cut off all communication.

The writing is on the wall for him to return with his guy, Mike McCarthy, at the helm for the Steelers heading into 2026. Regardless of what Rodgers is thinking or feeling, it sounds like the Steelers have a backup plan already in place. If Rodgers were to walk away from Pittsburgh, the Steelers could target Kirk Cousins to replace him, at least that's what Adam Schefter believes.

"Pittsburgh wants Aaron Rodgers back and if he wants to come back the job is his.. If he doesn't want to play I think Kirk Cousins would be a logically pivot" ~ @AdamSchefter #PMSLive https://t. co/Y8jLuUNMJg pic.
