Palm Beach County declared March 21, 2026 as 'Lamar Jackson Day' to honor the NFL star's accomplishments and community work.

Let the date forever be known as " Lamar Jackson Day " in Palm Beach County. The Board of County Commissioners of Palm Beach County declared March 21, 2026 as "Lamar Jackson Day" with a proclamation and ceremony at Wellington's Village Park Athletic Complex. Teddy Bridgewater , a fellow South Floridian in the NFL, was in attendance along with numerous other pros involved with a 7-on-7 youth football tournament on Saturday.

Jackson, 29, is a native of Pompano Beach in Broward County but played varsity football as a quarterback at Santaluces and Boynton Beach in Palm Beach County. He went on to shine in college football at the University of Louisville, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2016. He was selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens and has since won two NFL MVP awards and established himself as the league's all-time rushing leader among quarterbacks.

Jackson has remained a prominent figure in Palm Beach County while starring for the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL. He showed up to his alma mater for practice last spring and supported the team's improvements via social media.

In addition to his involvement with local foundations and football clinics, Jackson also has spent personal time in the area, such as grabbing dinner at a Lake Worth food truck during the Ravens' bye week last fall. Eric J. Wallace is deputy sports editor for The Palm Beach Post.
