Oregon's Dominic Hellman takes home Big Ten weekly honors
Dominic Hellman claimed the first Big Ten Player of the Week honors for the Ducks this season.
Another conference series win for the Oregon Ducks this past weekend continued their strong start to the season and earned one Duck some conference praise. Senior designated hitter Dominic Hellman was honored as Co-Big Ten Player of the Week for his dominance over Northwestern in the weekend series. He will share the weekly honors with Ohio State outfielder Alex Bemis.
Hellman is the first Duck to receive the conference award this season. The Ducks didn't have much of an issue attacking the Northwestern pitching staff throughout the weekend, totalling 36 runs in the three games. Hellman might have had the biggest impact, however.
He compiled a . 410 batting average for the series and a 1. 950 OPS.
The senior finished the series 5-for-12 with four home runs and eight RBI, while drawing three walks. ššØš§š¬ššš« šššš¤ Dominic Hellman homered twice on both Friday and Sunday which earned him the @B1Gbaseball 's weekly honor. #GoDucks Press Release | https://t.
