Nico Schlotterbeck set to extend Borussia Dortmund contract until 2031 Bild reports that Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck is set to extend his contract at the club. It has been a long and drawn-out process, but the talk surrounding the 26-year-old is coming to an end, with it being reported that an agreement has been reached. Schlotterbeck will extend his contract at the Signal Iduna Park until 2031, and will earn a salary of around €14m per year.
There will be a release clause in the contract, which will become valid from the summer of 2027, and it is said to be worth around €60m. The ending of the talk is in sight; once the defender returns from international duty , it is likely the deal will be finalised. Schlotterbeck and Dortmund’s futures: The recent extension of the contract of Felix Nmecha also signals the intentions of the hierarchy at the Signal Iduna Park.
The inclusion of a release clause in the contract also means that Dortmund must now focus on being able to challenge Bayern Munich and provide the titles that Schlotterbeck is seeking.
