Arsenal winger to link up with England despite new injury Noni Madueke suffered an injury in training with Arsenal last week, but the player isn’t pulling out of the international break following his appearance in the League Cup final on Sunday. London that Noni Madueke suffered an injury in training with Arsenal on Friday, following an accidental collision with a youth-team player.

Madueke then wore a cast on his wrist for the League Cup final on Sunday, and he left Wembley Stadium with significant strapping around the problem. But the winger isn’t set to pull out of the international break, just as he didn’t pull out of the cup final. England will simply monitor the issue, and the expectation is that he’ll be fine to feature in their friendlies over the next week.

Arsenal certainly won’t want to hear about any further injury setbacks though, with Eberechi Eze , William Saliba , Gabriel Magalhaes , Leandro Trossard , and Jurrien Timber all pulling out of the internationals already, and Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino also unavailable for selection. Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice might also have struggled to play two games for England this week, given their respective workloads so far this season.

But Thomas Tuchel made the sensible decision to only call the pair up for the second match, so that they can use most of this week to rest.
