Lens refuse PSG’s postponement plea to delay top-of-table showdown between Liverpool Champions League clashes Lens have rejected a request from Paris Saint-Germain to postpone their upcoming top-of-the-table Ligue 1 clash. PSG had made a request to postpone the fixture on April 11th, as it takes place between the club's two Champions League quarter-final fixtures against Liverpool . The Parisians had wanted the fixture moved to afford their squad extra rest between the two Liverpool ties, but have unsurprisingly seen Lens deny the request.
Lens sit second in the Ligue 1 table and are just a point behind PSG in the title race. Pierre Sage's side have no intention of allowing PSG a break from their intense schedule as the underdogs aim to overhaul PSG at the top of the table. Lens have not won a Ligue 1 title since a sole success in 1997-98.
French outlet RMC Sport have reported that Lens have rejected PSG's postponement request. The news will be greeted positively by Liverpool, who face Fulham in the Premier League
