com's Daniel Jeremiah and a slew of other NFL draft pundits, prognosticators and mock drafters have connected the Titans with Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love in recent weeks. Love is a game-changer who's drawn frequent comparison to Detroit standout Jahmyr Gibbs thanks to his speed, shiftiness and pass-catching ability. Both Kiper and Jeremiah rank Love as the best non-quarterback prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft, and for a Titans organization that's built its most successful years on the legs of workhorse backs Eddie George, Chris Johnson and Derrick Henry, the talent aligns with the long-term organizational philosophy.
The love for Love is growing, but it's not unanimous. Mock drafts posted on March 23 by USA TODAY Sports , CBS Sports , Pro Football Focus and league insider Todd McShay all had the Titans going a different direction. And the logic for that makes sense too; 12 of the 17 running backs who rushed for 1,000 yards last season weren't first-round picks, and five of the seven teams that represented the AFC in the playoffs last year didn't have a 1,000-yard rusher.
The case against selecting Love ― or against selecting any running back with the No. 4 pick in the NFL draft ― has to begin with those two caveats: You don't need a top-tier runner to have a successful rushing attack, and you don't need a top-tier runner to win.
