Eagles' second-year players to watch in the 2026 NFL season
As the 2026 season approaches, we highlight the Eagles’ second-year players poised to take the next step and make a major impact in Philadelphia.
The Eagles have undergone a roster retool over the past few seasons, and one of the league's oldest rosters has transformed into one of the youngest teams in the NFL. ESPN's Bill Barnwell recently identified the average age for all 32 teams around the league, and the Eagles landed in the top five. That youth includes three All-Pro defenders, a talented backup running back, and a talented offensive lineman.
Among the players 25 or younger on the roster are star second-year linebacker Jihaad Campbell, running back Tank Bigsby, and cornerback Cooper DeJean. Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, Moro Ojomo, Ty Robinson, Jalyx Hunt, Tanner McKee, and Tyler Smith. With the off-season underway and the NFL draft fast approaching, we're looking at five second-year players to watch.
OL Hollin Pierce An undrafted free agent out of Rutgers, Pierce is a gigantic man who was a 53-man roster hopeful last summer. The 6-foot-8 tackle spent most of the season on Philadelphia's practice squad, and we will be watching to see if he's developed enough to warrant a roster spot. LB Jihaad Campbell Campbell played his rookie season with a shoulder injury, had another surgery after the season, and is expected back by training camp.
This comes hours after John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia spoke with Vic Fangio, who confirmed that Campbell will be out until training camp. Campbell was the first off-ball linebacker the Eagles have selected in the first round since Jerry Robinson in 1979. The Erial, New Jersey native was named to the first-team All-SEC in 2024 after leading the Crimson Tide with 117 tackles, 11.
