Drew Allar had private workout with Jets after impressive Pro Day

Yahoo Sports

The New York Jets brought in former Penn State quarterback Drew Allar this weekend for a private workout after his impressive Pro Day.

Drew Allar stepped onto the field at Penn State for the first time in 2022 with the weight of the program on his shoulders. Fans had been hoping for an elite quarterback to lead them to the playoffs, and eventually a title, for years. While Allar showed some bright flashes and took the Nittany Lions to the College Football Playoff in 2024, he never quite lived up to his five-star status, and his collegiate career ended on a sour note after an ankle injury knocked him out for the remainder of his final season this past year.

Although he didn’t deliver the results he may have hoped for, NFL teams are still mostly interested in those exhilarating moments he had, along with his incredibly high ceiling. Allar needed all the visibility he could get ahead of the draft, so he returned to the field for the NFL Scouting Combine , where he put together a solid performance. He was far better at Penn State’s Pro Day, where he put on a dazzling performance for scouts.

He had such an impressive day that the New York Jets decided to bring him in for a private workout last weekend. Report: Jets worked out former Penn State QB Drew Allar. https://t.

Things obviously didn’t go as planned, but there are clearly some teams out there who aren’t willing to throw away the positive seasons he put together and his rare, raw talent. There is still ample time for Allar to meet and workout with more teams with the 2026 NFL Draft being exactly one month away, but we know he’s on the radar of at least one team already.
