Future League title defended! 9-0 win caps near perfect season The trophy is staying in Salzburg! Our U20 women's team repeated the feat from last season and were presented with the trophy today – following a resounding 9-0 victory, their biggest win of the season, against bottom-of-the-table FC Südburgenland – after coach Lukas Hiermann's team had already secured the title two weeks ago, thanks to a defeat for their closest rivals, Neulengbach Juniors.
The title means a lot to the girls! While the development of the team and each individual is paramount, it's also crucial to get used to the feeling of winning and losing in order to appreciate these moments. We've put a lot of work in, and the championship is absolutely deserved!
Coach Lukas Hiermann View this post on Instagram Even though the young Salzburg women, according to Hiermann, would have preferred to not see the title win sealed elsewhere, having the best attack, the most solid defence, and being undefeated with one round to go – combined with a 16-point cushion (! ) over the second-placed team from Vienna, underscores just how dominant the girls are. I can only speak highly of my team's character and attitude!
They have tremendous ambition, are down-to-earth, give 100 percent in every training session, and support each other – that's how a lot can be achieved collectively. The progress they've made this season is really cool!
