Commanders to host other Texas Tech pass rusher on pre-draft visit
The Commanders will host Texas Tech's lesser-known edge rusher on a pre-draft visit.
The Washington Commanders entered the offseason with several needs, but none was more glaring than edge rusher. Once Dorance Armstrong was injured in Week 7 last season, the Commanders struggled to get to opposing passers, making life even tougher for a struggling secondary. GM Adam Peters set out to fix that in free agency, signing Odafe Oweh to a four-year, $100 million contract and K'Lavon Chaisson and Charles Omenihu to one-year deals.
Chaisson is particularly intriguing, coming off an excellent season with the Patriots and is only 26. Instead of taking a chance and waiting on an edge rusher in the 2026 NFL Draft, Peters was aggressive in free agency. That doesn't mean an edge rusher is still not a possibility during the draft.
Armstrong is entering the final year on his contract, while only Oweh is signed beyond 2026. So, while the Commanders are linked to the top pass rushers, like Arvell Reese (Ohio State), David Bailey (Texas Tech) and Rueben Bain Jr. (Miami), Washington is looking beyond the top prospects.

One of the elite pass-rushers in the class, Height had 70 total pressures & nine sacks this fall and was a standout of Senior Bowl week.
