How Jazzy Davidson reacted to slow start, USC's blowout loss to South Carolina

COLUMBIA — Jazzy Davidson didn't have a night she's used to. The Southern Cal women's basketball star freshman did not score until midway through the second quarter in a 101-61 loss to South Carolina in round 2 of the Women's NCAA Tournament on March 23 at Colonial Life Arena. She finished 5-of-15 from the field for 16 points.
And according to Davidson, her performance proved to herself that she just "needs to get better. " "I have to get better. That's the bottom line," she said.
"I think, obviously, it's hard to lose in general, but losing this way really sucks. I think I could have done a lot better for my team today. " It didn't help that the Trojans (18-14) were up against a defensive powerhouse in South Carolina (33-3).
The Gamecocks outrebounded the Trojans 43-27 and had 17 steals. "They're an elite defensive team," Davidson said. "There's no doubt about that.
