Michigan hires 2x Super Bowl-winning NY Giants scout as assistant GM

Yahoo Sports

The Michigan Wolverines have hired former New York Giants director of college scouting as their new assistant general manager.

Kyle Whittingham is set to take over the Michigan Wolverines historic football program, and he's working quickly to make it his own. We watched earlier this offseason as Whittingham, who comes to Ann Arbor after over 30 years spent with the Utah Utes program, utilized the transfer portal well to make the roster more to his liking. Now we are seeing him make some hires, both to his staff and to his front office, that are doing the same.

On Monday, it was announced that the Wolverines are bringing on former New York Giants director of college scouting Chris Pettit, who will take over as the new assistant general manager for Michigan. Pettit was with the Giants for nearly two decades, winning a pair of Super Bowls with the franchise in 2008 and 2012. Pettit will join the staff of Michigan GM Dave Peloquin, who was announced by new head coach Kyle Whittingham last month.
