Panthers officially announce signing of former 2nd-round RB

The Panthers have made their addition of former Packers and Eagles RB AJ Dillon official.

The Carolina Panthers have officially made an addition to their running back room. As announced on Monday, the team has signed veteran rusher AJ Dillon to a one-year deal. The agreement was first reported by multiple outlets last Wednesday.

After spending three years at Boston College, where he'd become a third-team All-American and three-time first-team All-ACC member, Dillon was selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He'd stick on up north for nearly five seasons, amassing 2,428 yards and 16 touchdowns on 597 attempts over 60 games. A neck injury would force Dillon to miss the entirety of the 2024 campaign.

He did, however, return in 2025 as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles—rushing for 60 yards on 12 carries. Dillon is now the sixth running back currently rostered by Carolina—joining Chuba Hubbard, Jonathon Brooks, Trevor Etienne, Montrell Johnson Jr. and Anthony Tyus III.
