The Dallas Cowboys are still hunting for another pass rusher, and the team may need to pivot to the free agent market to address the need.

Sports Illustrated's Randy Gurzi believes Washington Commanders free agent edge rusher Von Miller could be a possible fit for the Cowboys heading into the second wave of the market. "Miller isn't the player he once was at 36 years old, but he's still a productive pass rusher in a rotational role. He's stated that he wants to continue playing, and the Cowboys could definitely use his experience as they rebuild their defense," Gurzi wrote.

Miller played in all 17 games for Washington in 2025, posting nine sacks and 36 quarterback pressures in a rotational role. At this stage of his career, Miller is no longer an elite pass rusher, but he is still a starting-caliber player who can generate consistent pressure on the quarterback. Signing Miller to pair with Rashan Gary would give Dallas an extra boost in the pass-rushing department, and the 36-year-old's 164 games of starting experience would also be incredibly valuable.

Additionally, Miller should be fairly cheap to sign, so there is little to no risk in bringing in the future Hall of Famer. According to Over the Cap, the Cowboys have around $14 million left in cap space. Signing Miller wouldn't be as exciting as trading for someone like Maxx Crosby.
