Travis Kelce signs 3-year deal with the Chiefs
Travis Kelce new Chiefs contract has him retiring with the Chiefs.
We all thought that this may be Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s last season in the NFL, but it looks like the Chiefs tight end plans to play until he’s 40. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the contract is a three-year deal worth up to $57. 7 million, averaging $18.
2 million per season. The first year of Kelce’s contract is for $12 million with $3 million in incentives. The deal is structured as a one-year contract, with the assumption that Kelce may retire after this year.
If he decides to come back after the 2026 season, he’ll renegotiate his contract with the Chiefs each year he stays. Although Kelce had a good year compared to most tight ends, some saw some signs of him slowing down, which is why some are puzzled the Chiefs would sign him to such a deal. But once you understand the deal, you realize this could be Kelce’s last year with the Chiefs, but if it isn’t, he and the team can negotiate new terms to this contract, and he can play for another season or two if he wants to.
Either way, it sounds like he will retire as a Chief. This article originally appeared on Touchdown Wire: Travis Kelce signs long-term deal with the Chiefs
