Even so, the price tag might not stop Europe’s elite. Clubs offering Champions League football can easily tempt players who want to compete at the highest level. “Most of the Premier League’s top sides will be interested in Rogers if there was any possibility that he could be lured away.

“We know that Villa have had issues over the last couple of seasons. Rogers is still a key man for Unai Emery, and they would probably look to offload other players first. “His price tag will be pretty hefty, it’ll be well in excess of £100million probably if somebody wanted to sign him, because he’s under a long-term contract until 2031.
