Barcelona veteran’s agent exploring moves to MLS, Saudi Arabia amid renewal talks The future of Robert Lewandowski has been a hot topic at Barcelona as we approach the business end of the campaign. The veteran forward’s contract at Camp Nou expires at the end of the season, which will mark the conclusion of a brilliant spell that saw the striker a key part of the Hansi Flick project. However, Joan Laporta is not yet done with Lewandowski, and it appears Barcelona are keen on tying him down to a one-year contract extension , albeit with a significantly lower package.
Lewandowski’s agent seeking moves elsewhere According to Fabrizio Romano , Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is closely working with the player to find a resolution about his future this summer. It appears Zahavi is currently exploring the possibility of a move to MLS or the Saudi Arabian league, with Lewandowski having received offers from both leagues. Will Lewandowski continue at Barcelona next season?
(Photo by Eric Alonso/Getty Images) Zahavi will keep in mind that the Pole turns 38 this summer and even though he is still in excellent shape, the player might want to earn a big payday during the business end of his career rather than playing second fiddle at a lower salary. Lewandowski, for his part, though, has shown no desire to leave Barcelona. His family is well settled in the city and it appears the player loves life in Catalonia.
This could play a big role in dictating Lewandowski’s future, as the player might end up considering renewing at Barcelona unless he receives an offer that is simply impossible to refuse. The coming weeks, therefore, could be critical as Zahavi, Lewandowski and Laporta look to work together to clear the air around the striker’s future.
