Newcastle suffer another injury blow Newcastle defender Sven Botman has undergone surgery after suffering a facial fracture in the defeat to Sunderland on Sunday. The Dutchman suffered the injury in a challenge with striker Brian Brobbey. But Newcastle say they are hopeful he will be back before the end of the campaign.
“Sven Botman has undergone successful surgery on a facial fracture. “He is not expected to be sidelined for an extended period and hopes to be available again during the closing weeks of the season. ” It comes as another blow for boss Eddie Howe, who has also been without Bruno Guimaraes , Sandro Tonali, Fabian Schar and Lewis Miley of late.
