ON THE APP STORE Jorrel Hato got an unexpected start at centre back on Saturday when Chelsea faced Everton, and was part of the team that was brushed aside by the Toffees in a 3-0 defeat.
His team never looked like they believed they would win, and crumpled once they had conceded. But Hato denied that this was a confidence problem in Liam Rosenior’s team. Hato’s denial doesn’t add up as Blues collapse after conceding “No, I don’t think it’s a confidence issue because we went 1-0 down but we still created chances, we still had control of the game.

In other news… Hato also denied that Everton’s pressing was what had put Chelsea off – but he ignores one very obvious fact about what the Toffees did. Chelsea’s need for a top central defender was brutally exposed in that game, and a Serie A player is being strongly linked as potentially that man.
Paul Merson has been writing about Chelsea’s current predicament, and has called one decision “madness”.
