BeachBows enjoy another sweep
The Hawaii beach volleyball program won its final two matches of the Big West Challenge in Long Beach, Calif. , on Sunday, beating UC Davis and Cal State Northridge by 4-1 scores. The BeachBows finished the tournament 4-2 after a poor start.
Hawaii’s No. 4 pair of Emily Heintzelman and Kiera Cornman swept both of their matches as did the No. 5 team of Sarah Burton and Sydney Amiatu, allowing only 44 points in four sets.
No. 13 Hawaii will be off until April 3 when it visits Arizona for the Wildcat Spring Challenge. Hawaii sailors settle for second The Hawaii coed sailing team took second place at the PCCSC South Designate in San Francisco on Sunday, rallying from eighth place.
Stanford won the event with 53 points, Hawaii had 70 and UC Santa Barbara took third with 74. Erik Anderson, Amanda Turner and Arden Rathkopf placed in the top two of seven of their 10 races while freshmen William Bagley and Leila Landay won two races in the B Division. Hawaii returns to Keehi Lagoon for the last time this season with the Hawaii Fleet Race beginning March 28.
