Vote for the Globe-News Athlete of the Week for March 16-21, presented by Happy State Bank
Athletes from Canyon, Dimmitt, West Plains, Amarillo High, Gruver, Bushland, Hart and Dumas are finalists for this week's honor.
Some of the area's best powerlifters came back from state with some hardware, while other stars shined on the diamond last week, making for a stellar group of finalists for the Happy State Bank High School Athlete of the Week. The Globe-News is taking weekly nominations and will release a list of finalists for the Happy State Bank High School Athlete of the Week each week. Students in all varsity sports are eligible to be nominated.
The poll will close on Thursday and the winners will be announced thereafter. Nominations are due by 5 p. m.
each Saturday and can be submitted through email at sports@amarillo. com. Please include statistics from the week's games and any pertinent information or honors.

This Week's Finalists • Carson Allen, Canyon baseball — Allen had a lead-off home run and a triple, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs in a win against Dumas. • Ga'Quorie Chatham, Dimmitt baseball — Chatham hit two home runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, including a grand slam, in a district game against Idalou.
