Colts address pass rushing need in NFL Wires mock draft

In the first edition of the NFL Wires mock draft, the Colts were able to further boost their pass rush in Round 2.

Our NFL Wires editors completed their first mock draft of the 2026 cycle. With it only being one round, the  Indianapolis Colts  did not have a selection. However, taking into account the picks that were made, along with using  PFF's mock draft simulator  to help complete the second round, we were able to make our selection for the Colts at pick No.

47. For all of the first-round selections in our NFL Wires mock draft, you can find that  here . Colts give pass rush a boost Although the Colts made two free agency additions at defensive end, signing Micheal Clemons and Arden Key, this is a position that still needs to be addressed.

Ideally, Clemons and Key will bolster the defensive end rotation, but a more high-impact presence to lineup opposite of Laiatu Latu is still needed. So in this mock, how did we address that need? At pick No.

47, the Colts selected Oklahoma defensive end R Mason Thomas. Listed at 6-2 -249 pounds, Thomas has played 1,307 career defensive snaps, 901 of which have come over the last two seasons. During that span, Thomas has logged 63 quarterback pressures and 15 sacks.
