‘He’s in trouble’: Tyson Fury says he’s well-prepared for Arslanbek Makhmudov
Tyson Fury says the Thai sunshine reinvigorated his fighting spirit.
Tyson Fury tells Sky Sports that he was happily retired before signing for this April 11 fight against Arslanbek Makhmudov . Fury said he was spending time in Thailand on vacation with his family and was having such a good time in the sunshine that he decided to stay and hold a camp there, which eventually led to him getting this offer for a stadium fight at Tottenham Hotspur. Fury says there’s no atmosphere quite like a big stadium fight and he’s looking forward to soaking it all in once again, although he’s aware that Makhmudov won’t be coming into this fight simply to lay down.
“All I can say is Makhmudov’s in some serious bother,” Fury said. “He’s in trouble. Makhmudov’s in trouble.
He’s a tough man, he’s had a couple of losses like myself, and he’s had a lot of knockouts, 20 odd knockouts. We’re similar age, similar size, similar weight, similar record. I was world champion, he was No 2 in the rankings when I was WBC champion.
He was one of the fights I got offered actually. So now we’re actually doing it so here we go. ” Should Fury score a win in this outing it will likely line him up for what seems to be an eventual trilogy match with Oleksandr Usyk , which Usyk has expressed interest in despite already holding two official wins over him.
