That same issue ended UW’s season in an overtime loss to TCU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Losing to a very good team like TCU in their home arena is no shame, but the way the game played out was frustrating. UW led by seven with six minutes to play, but scored only four points for the rest of regulation. Brynn McGaughy was on the bench with foul trouble for long stretches and the Huskies couldn’t get looks for Avery Howell.
The rest of the team shot only 28. 9% from the field. Still, the season was a big success for Tina Langley and the Huskies.
They return lots of talent and should be a major factor in the Big 1o next year. Another UW Women’s team had a happier weekend. The Softball team continued to blitz its way through the Big 10 with a sweep of Michigan.
