Shanelle Dyer: Statement fights coming every time after UFC London

Yahoo Sports

Shanelle Dyer's UFC debut was a stunner worth an extra $100,000 in a post-fight bonus check.

Shanelle Dyer met the media Saturday after her win over Ravena Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 270. Dyer (7-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) finished Oliveira (7-4-1 MMA, 0-3 UFC) with a TKO in the second round to open the prelims at The O2 in London. Although she lost a decision on DWCS this past fall, Dyer got a UFC shot, anyway, and made the most of her debut when she put Oliveira down and took her out.

"Every time I go into a fight, I tell the media I'm going to finish my opponent, but the game plan always is to get a win at the end of the day. So I came there, took my time (and got the finish)," Dyer told the UFC after the win. Dyer, from England, said the experience of walking out in front of her home fans was a memorable one.

But in the future, it'll be all about what she plans to do in the women's strawweight division. "The world has learned that Shanelle Dyer is here to stay, and we're going to put on statements every single time I step in the octagon," Dyer said. " Check out Dyer's post-fight interview in the video below.
