Alvaro Folgueiras game-winner sends Iowa basketball to Sweet 16

Some sports moments live on in history, long past when they actually occurred. Iowa basketball has one of those moments now. Trailing top-seeded Florida by two with nine seconds to play, the Hawkeyes had a chance to go for the win.

To put themselves on NCAA tournament highlight reels for decades to come. And junior big man Alvaro Folgueiras delivered that moment. Iowa brought the ball up the court and kicked it out to a wide-open Folgueiras on a well-designed play from head coach Ben McCollum.

With his mother in attendance all the way from Spain, Folgueiras calmly collected the ball, put up the shot, and nailed it. The Hawkeyes got the defensive stop on the other end, and they're back in the Sweet 16 for the first time in 27 years. ARE.
