The Las Vegas Raiders need sophomore guard Caleb Rogers to win a starting job this offseason.

The Las Vegas Raiders signed center Tyler Linderbaum to a historic contract in NFL free agency to help fix the offensive line. At the four additional positions up front, the Raiders may be relying on in-house growth from ascending players. Sophomore guard Caleb Rogers projects as a big part of that plan.

Jackson Powers-Johnson will claim one of the starting gigs at guard. The other spot could be decided by an offseason competition. Rogers is the most promising player in the mix.

The Raiders selected Rogers with the 98th pick in last year's draft. Pete Carroll was hesitant to play him early despite the Raiders' offensive line struggles. Rogers ended up earning 284 total snaps at right guard, with Pro Football Focus assigning him a 59.

6 grade for his overall performance. New head coach Klint Kubiak and offensive line coach Rick Dennison simply won't hand Rogers the job. He'll have to earn it.
