Hudson made two excellent saves with his feet to preserve his side's slender lead in the 1-0 win against struggling Harrogate Town on Saturday - his 17th clean sheet in the Latics' first season back in the Football League since 2022. The 26-year-old joined the club on a free transfer from Buxton following his release from Preston North End where he graduated from the academy.

This season, he has been a major part of League Two's meanest defence - with Oldham conceding just 31 goals in 37 matches, five less than the league's second-best rearguard, league-leaders Bromley. The club record currently stands at 18 clean sheets and Hudson could equal that in Tuesday's clash with League Two promotion hopefuls Notts County at Boundary Park. "I want to set the record for the club in a season," he told BBC Radio Manchester.

"I think we are one off so, yeah, we've got a great chance at doing that. I'm proud of the lads for what they're doing in front of me. Boss Mellon agrees new contract at Oldham Mellon will not let good form get ahead of Oldham "They're doing a great job, they have done all season.

The additions of Donervan [Daniels] and Robbo [Jamie Robson] at left-back have been brilliant this season. "Both excellent players, both played in the league before, as well as obviously Manny [Monthe] who I played with last season - I know what he's about. "Look at Leakey [Jake Leake], the shift he's put in, got his goal, and Will Sutton who is doing a brilliant job at right-back - everyone's putting a great shift in.
