Nebraska baseball (18-6, 5-1) concluded its weekend road trip to Michigan (11-11, 1-5) on Sunday morning. The Huskers composed a major five-run inning in the ninth, claiming a 9-5 victory over the Wolverines to take the series. Nebraska delivered four shots over the wall in the win, two coming in the ninth.
Max Buettenback started the inning with a solo home run before Jett Buck capped it off with a grand slam, his only hit of the game. Buettenback batted 2-for-2 on the day. Dylan Carey and Rhett Stokes drove in the other two home runs.
Stokes struck a solo shot in the sixth before Carey blasted one over the wall in the seventh. Carey batted 2-for-5 and Stokes finished 2-for-3. J’Shawn Unger (4-1) secured the win after pitching 2.
2 innings. He took the mound in the seventh, recorded five strikeouts and allowed two runs on two hits. Tucker Timmerman recorded the final two outs for Nebraska, leaving Michigan with eight hits on the day.
