As of a month ago, it was hard to imagine the Wisconsin Badgers women's basketball program still playing in late March. After a pair of stellar games in the WBIT, Wisconsin's season is far from over. The Badgers went to Oregon State and Miami to knock off a pair of extremely talented teams in the first two rounds.
Now, the Badgers get to host Harvard. Wisconsin is ranked No. 3 in its portion of the bracket and was never expected to host a game, but that opportunity presented itself when Eastern Kentucky knocked off No.
1 Utah in the first round. Harvard then took care of business against Eastern Kentucky, 63-34. The Crimson improved to 20-11 overall with the win, while Wisconsin sits at 15-17 after their 72-65 win over the Hurricanes.
The WBIT quarterfinals take place on March 26, giving teams one extra day of rest compared to the first and second rounds. At this point, Wisconsin still has three games to go before it can call itself the WBIT Champions. Harvard will be no easy opponent, as the Crimson have won four of their last five and 11 of their last 14.
