Ally Hetzel's two homers power Washington to 16th straight victory
The Washington Huskies earned their 16th straight win behind a trio of home runs, including two from a star freshman.
It's no secret, the Washington Huskies are the hottest team in the country after extending their winning streak to 16 in a row with a hard-fought 10-7 victory over Michigan on Sunday to sweep the Wolverines. Coach Heather Tarr's team was powered by its brightest and fastest-rising stars in the contest, as freshman Ally Hetzel continued her emergence as one of the best young players in the Big Ten. She blasted a pair of home runs in the first multi-homer game of her career as she reached base four times on the day, going 3-for-3 with a walk and three runs batted in.
Her classmate, center fielder Kaycie Burdick, also reached base four times on a pair of walks, an error, and a two-run double, while she also came across to score a pair of runs. Sophomore first baseman Alexis DeBoer went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and added 4 RBIs in the win. ALLY HETZEL.

The sophomore worked the final 4 innings and allowed an unearned run on 3 hits with 4 strikeouts. In relief of starter Erin Hoehn, who was able to get through just 2 innings, and let up 5 runs on 6 hits with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts, Grayson Lamarche took the loss for the Wolverines after working the final 4 innings and surrendering 4 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and 2 walks.
