Dual league titles for the Plymouth North track and field program and the longest boys hoop playoff run at South were highlights of the winter season.

Spring practices began at high schools across the region last week with the remnants of an eventful winter snowfall still hanging around on some athletic fields. But, before breaking out the lawn chairs and the sunscreen, we need to crown the Old Colony Memorial’s Winter Season MVP. There were impressive team performances and individual accomplishments during the winter that kept all of us on the edge of our seats.

We have highlighted a group of leading student-athletes to put together a list of candidates for the OCM’s Winter MVP. Voting is open now and the Winter MVP poll will be active until noon on Sunday, March 29. Vote for your favorite as many times as you’d like.

A big congratulations to everyone who was nominated all season long during the weekly poll. Here is the list of the nominees for the OCM’s Winter MVP. Troy Chase, Sr.

, Plymouth North boys basketball The three-time Patriot League All-Star led the Blue Eagles in scoring this season despite missing time due to an injury. Chase cracked the top 10 in the league in scoring (17. 9 points per game).
